We have our first blockbuster move of the NFL trade deadline!
The Washington Commanders have acquired four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Marshon Lattimore from the New Orleans Saints, with the Saints getting a third, fourth and fifth-round draft pick each. The swap comes just hours before the 4:00 p.m. ET deadline and a day after New Orleans fired head coach Dennis Allen. As the deadline neared, rumors had Lattimore potentially being traded among the number of veterans that the Saints could nix off their roster to get more towards low-cost assets as they enter into rebuilding mode. As far as the Commanders, it’s an obvious power deal, though Lattimore did have to deal with a hamstring problem in the campaign as he missed two games, including in the Saints’ most recent game (loss) against the Carolina Panthers.
Playing in seven games in the 2024 season, Lattimore has tallied 22 tackles with one pass defended.

What a play by the Washington Commanders.
I mean, damn, these boys are already toasting the league with Jayden Daniels at the helm. Now you want to throw somebody like Marshon Lattimore into the picture?
Historically, this is gonna sound funny, but we’re looking at a legitimate Super Bowl contender when we’re talking about Washington — wow — and as a DMV native, I’m here for it!
