The coaches had a lot to be happy about following the 30-24 overtime victory. Not only did the team pick up their 11th win of the season, but they also qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2020.
But one manager in particular had more to celebrate than winning a football game.
As celebrations and music echoed throughout the stadium, cameras caught Commander Special Teams star Jeremy Reeves getting down on one knee and proposing to his girlfriend, Michaela Worley.
NBC sunday night football Commentator Mike Tirico narrated the special moment.
“Jeremy Reaves, who played 22 special teams snaps, has the most special snap of them all. Taking a knee at the end of the game for the win…Of course she said that, dear. We're in the playoffs now!'' Tirico said.
The whole moment was captured by a fan known as @HogfarmerChris.
The Commanders have one more district game, playing Sunday in Dallas against the rival Cowboys. This game is a chance to avenge the beginning of the season. Washington will then begin preparing for its postseason opponents. With the victory over Atlanta, the Commanders advanced to the No. 6 seed in the NFC playoffs.
If the playoff standings remain unchanged, Washington will travel to Los Angeles to face the Rams.
