The Washington Commanders have suspended the organization's vice president after he made derogatory comments in a secretly recorded video during a date that was made public Wednesday.
An undercover woman who worked for James O'Keefe's media company went on multiple dates with Commanders VP of content Rael Entine on Hinge and recorded him saying that NFL players are homophobes, fans are alcohol-soaked mouth breathers and the league's social justice efforts are disingenuous.
“The language used in the video is counter to the values of the Commanders organization. We have suspended the employee pending the completion of our internal investigation and will not be commenting further at this time,” a Commanders spokesperson told The Post in a statement.
In the video, Entine was asked by his date about the makeup of his team.
“Over 50 percent of our members are white religious people who say, 'God fuck gays,' and another large percentage are low-income African-Americans who come from communities that are inherently homophobic,” Entine said.
His undercover date asked Entine if most people who work in the NFL are “not very smart.”
“Obviously, there's a variety of people out there. I've met some very smart people in the NFL,” Entine said.
He was then asked about the players.
“Some people are just really stupid,” Entine said.
Entine has been with the Commanders for four years and previously worked on the Jets' social team, according to his LinkedIn page.
“I think most of the fans are high school graduate alcoholics… There are fights going on in the stands all the time,” Entine said, though the previous context was cut off midway through the conversation.
Her date went on to ask if they “seemed like lower class people.”
“I hate using that word, I just say mouth breather,” Entine said with a laugh.
“My job is to sell hope to the fans, right? We need them to buy tickets. And when there's not a lot of hope to sell, we have to dig deep to find it,” Entine said of his role with the organization.
My date asked me why there weren’t many chances of selling it now.
“Because there was sewage leaking from a pipe into the fans in the middle of the game,” Entine said.
“And then I had to post on social media, 'It wasn't sewage, I promise.' That's national media.”
When asked about NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Entine responded, “Yeah, he's a puppet. A $50 million puppet.”
The date asked Entine to explain the NFL's social justice message.
“It's a performance,” Entine said.
“This is not an act of goodwill or morality. This is an act because George Floyd made a difference. Social justice work is a performance to raise public awareness, not an act of actual progress.”
Entine said this wasn't an attempt to garner support from liberals, but rather “to get as much money as possible.”
“I think the NFL, like any other company, is driven by profits above all else,” Entine said.
“They don't have much need to save because their revenues are so high, so they can falsely prioritize DEI for good PR.”
