After rejecting the Trump campaign’s request to fast-forward the general debate. Presidential Debates Commission (CPD) announced that it will continue to stick to its original plan to broadcast its first broadcast on September 16th.th2024.

“The Trump campaign said in a statement Tuesday that the committee’s schedule will not begin ‘until millions of Americans have already cast their votes.'” NBC News report.
The committee said in a statement Wednesday, a day after Trump campaign aides Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles released their own statements calling for an earlier debate. He said the September session would be the earliest such debate has been held to date.
The previous record was set on September 21st.cent1980, during the debate between Ronald Reagan and John Anderson.
President Trump’s senior advisers reiterated their intention to work directly with the Biden campaign. They called on “all television networks” to host debates “with or without the stalwart Commission on Presidential Debates.”
However, the committee said shortly thereafter that, “As always, CPD does not consider religious holidays, federal holidays, early voting, “We took into consideration multiple factors, including the date of the election.” Each state closes voting.
In response to a Trump adviser’s claim that “millions of Americans have already voted” during the first debate, the committee said, “After a comprehensive review of each state’s early voting rules, “I intentionally chose September 16th.”Among other things, North Carolina’s Sept. 6 accountth Start date for mail-in voting.
Pennsylvania voters will be able to pick up, fill out and return their ballots at county election boards on September 16th.thAccording to CPD, the day of the first debate. Voters in Minnesota, one of the first states to allow in-person early voting, can begin voting on Friday, September 20th.th.
“CPD has one mission and one mission only: to sponsor and produce general election debates that inform and educate the public. Our schedule is designed with that one mission in mind. Universities preparing to host these debates look forward to participating in this historic series of forums in 2024,” the committee added.
The Committee also announced its intention to hold a second debate on October 1st.cent The third will be held on October 9th at Virginia State University.th The first debate at Texas State University was followed by the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
The vice presidential debate is scheduled for September 25th.th At Lafayette College, Pennsylvania.
President Joe Biden said on SiriusXM with Howard Stern last week that he would be “happy” to debate former President Donald Trump, but did not say when.
