Vivek Ramaswamy, a Cincinnati-born biotech entrepreneur who left the race last year and ran for president before supporting President Donald Trump, has launched a bid for the Ohio governor.
His announcement on February 24 was expected for weeks after 39-year-old Ramaswamy resigned from his role at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) on the first day of Trump's new term.
The Ohio native, who now lives in the suburbs of Columbus, has launched his candidacy for CTL Aerospace amid a crowd holding signs of “Vivec, Ohio.” Many participants wore pro cards and professional appro-like apparel.
