Mysterious Disappearance of PR Executive Raises Concerns
A PR executive has seemingly vanished from her home without any of her essential belongings—like her phone, wallet, or car—leaving her family deeply worried. They can’t imagine that the devoted single mother would ever abandon her son.
Antoinette Forbes, who is the vice president and head of public affairs at Eli Lilly, was last seen Friday afternoon at her Washington, D.C. residence. Just a day earlier, she had been enthusiastically FaceTiming her sisters, discussing plans for a family gathering in Florida over the holidays.
The alarm bells went off when she didn’t show up for a scheduled online catch-up on Sunday. In addition, her front door was found unlocked, with her dog, Max, and all her personal items left inside.
“We’re in total shock and horror,” said Aileen Forbes, Antoinette’s older sister, referring to their large extended family. “We’re horrified,” she added.
The 53-year-old did not appear to be in any distress and would never simply leave her 10-year-old son behind, her sister emphasized.
“He is Antoinette’s entire world,” Aileen stated. “Antoinette is a solid, dependable, intelligent, and capable woman. She would never leave her son, her dog, or her sister, who needs her.”
The Metropolitan Police Department of D.C. has classified her as critically missing, and they are treating her home as an active crime scene, according to Aileen. It’s hard for the family not to fear the worst regarding her fate.
“I’m really struggling not to even think about that possibility… because it would mean our family is shattered,” she shared with CNN. Still, she’s trying to maintain hope that her sister is alive.
Elizabeth Northrup, a friend of Antoinette’s who is staying with Aileen during this difficult time, mentioned that police haven’t found her in any hospitals or confirmed that she purchased any plane tickets. She expressed skepticism that Antoinette left home on her own accord.
“We need to find out what happened,” Aileen insisted. “Somebody must have seen something, no matter how small. We need any evidence that could help the police bring Antoinette back home.”
Forbes has served as the vice president and head of public affairs at Eli Lilly for the past five years, as noted on her LinkedIn profile.
The pharmaceutical company is aiding the police in their search for her, a spokesperson confirmed.
“She’s extremely busy and has a full life,” Aileen remarked. “A single mother and a very successful professional.”
According to the police, Antoinette is an Asian woman, standing 5-foot-2 with black hair and brown eyes.
