Rep. Burgess Owens (R-UT) considered pop star Beyoncé the winner of “Day” after winning the “Best Country Album” award at the Grammys last week. “I think Beyoncé and the Grammy Awards will suffer long-term because of that,” the House member said.
“I think it's the closest thing to see at DEI right now,” Owens told video journalist Nicholas Barassy on Friday. “I mean, I'm not a country fan, but I can say from the answers from rural fans. They're not grateful for that at all.”

“You're doing all that effort, you're growing your fanbase, you're out there, you're working to develop a reputation. Suddenly, someone comes out of the blue because they're popular with something else, She's the best, she's the best,' the House continued.
“No one respects that, but unfortunately, that's why Beyoncé is not respected by the core group of people she's singing now,” Owens said on the 67th, “Cowboy Carter” best country album. We've added the acquired pop stars. Last weekend's Grammy Awards.
After being asked if he believed he won the award, Beyoncé's “overall respect” stated, “I think so. I think it reduces her, I think it reduces the award, and I think you'll see much less people over time.”
“Fairness is everything we have in our country, and that's why we're so excited about what President Trump did by protecting women from men,” Owens added, and President Donald Trump last week cited signing an executive order protecting women's sports from transgender athletes.
“We don't like injustice. If we see that, we should turn our backs,” the lawmaker added, “I think Beyoncé and the Grammy Awards will suffer in the long term because of that.” Ta.
