Connecticut Teacher Tearfully Resigns After Threatening to ‘Fight’ Trump Supporters

A Connecticut teacher who went viral for threatening to “fight” with Trump supporters and “put him on a stretcher and die forever” in a social media video has resigned, tearfully saying he “sent the wrong message.” I apologized.

Annie Dunleavy, who until earlier this week was a special education teacher at Chapman Elementary School in Cheshire, came under fire for posting a profanity-laced rant on Snapchat after President-elect Donald Trump's victory: .

Arguing that “people of color, poor people and gay people” are no longer “safe in America,” the 30-year-old teacher pointed at the camera and said, “Neither do you.”

“Just because you get elected doesn’t mean you don’t remember who the hell you voted for. You’re not clear… Please, don’t try me as a gangster, you’ll be on a stretcher forever Because it disappears,’” she continued.

“[I’m] I'm very serious so don't let anyone talk to me unless you want to swing. If you want to fight, text me, call me, whatever, stay out of my face,” the teacher fumed.

Dunleavy went on to urge those who voted for President Trump to “delete me, block me, remove everything about me. Or approach me so I don't have to worry about anything.” I'll know what's going on and be able to deal with you in the way I see fit.''

The clip was originally published by one of Dunleavy's Snapchat friends and has been viewed nearly 9 million times after being shared by TikTok's library on X.

In honor of Cheshire Public Schools Superintendent Jeffrey Solan. said Dunleavy had been banned from campus pending an investigation, but her resignation was announced Wednesday.

“The comments on that video did not reflect the position of our school system,” Solan said in an email to parents obtained by TikTok's Libs. “They are harmful, deeply concerning, and ultimately undermine the trust our community has in us. All of our students and their families deserve the best of both worlds. “They have the right to attend school without fear of political bias.''

“As leaders of this school system, I deeply feel the anxiety this is causing in our community, and I look forward to refocusing our educators on the great work they do every day. ” Solan added.

on tv interview On WTNH News 8, Dunleavy became emotional as he tried to explain himself.

The former teacher said, “It was an emotional moment and I shouldn't have posted it.'' “This message was the wrong one. If this is going to give permission in people's minds to commit violence against women, I wanted to say that I'm not going down without a fight. “I will fight for myself and if someone tries to hurt me, I will defend myself.'' ”

“My lifelong dream is to become a teacher,” Dunleavy continued, her voice shaking. “I consider those kids my kids, and they fulfill that for me, and it's so fulfilling and so rewarding, and I think now people can see I really know that I don't look like that person, but I would really do anything to help a child or family in need.”

Meanwhile, Cheshire Constabulary Confirmed It announced in a press release Tuesday that it is investigating Dunleavy's threats. said NBC Connecticut announced Thursday that no criminal charges will be filed.
