Following the tragic drowning of influencer Conor Murphy in Thailand on July 7, police found unsettling conditions at the rental property he shared with his girlfriend, Bea. Reports indicate that a video captured by Viral Press revealed a disturbing scene, featuring a black tar-like substance smeared across various kitchen appliances alongside mounds of unkempt trash and a filthy couch.
The property, located in Samut Prakan, was previously valued at approximately $658,000. Footage showed the walls and ceiling marred by streaks of gray and yellow paint. The kitchen appeared cluttered, with pots, utensils, and equipment, such as a kettle and blender, all coated in this unidentifiable dark substance.
According to the Bangkok Post, Murphy, aged 32, drowned after an incident where he allegedly jumped into a lake. Eyewitness accounts revealed that the influencer had been acting unusually before his dive. Reports also mentioned a confrontation with a security guard at his rental prior to the drowning.
Witnesses noted that Murphy struggled in the water for a considerable time, adding, I think he seemed overwhelmed by the lake’s depth, which was over 10 meters. Rescue divers searched for roughly half an hour before locating his body around 20 meters from the shoreline.
Local authorities indicated that initial examinations of Murphy’s body showed no apparent signs of foul play. His remains have been sent for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death, with a toxicology report expected soon. Murphy, who had a notable following of over 2.7 million on social media, was known for his content relating to bodybuilding and the looksmaxxing community, a subculture focusing on personal improvement, often through extreme measures.
Interestingly, his social media seemed to fall silent just days before this incident, with the last video featuring him posted on July 3. As the investigation unfolds, it seems there are still many unanswered questions surrounding his last days.
