Connor Zilisch shares update on recovery after collarbone injury

NASCAR XFINITY series driver Connor Zilisch was hospitalized on Tuesday, recovering from a broken collarbone he sustained during a fall in victory lane over the weekend.

Despite the injury, he managed to share a light-hearted moment by displaying a yellow wristband he received from a nurse, humorously labeled “Fall Risk.”

He updated his followers on X about his situation, saying, “I went to the anesthesia hospital this morning. You can’t make something like this.” He also expressed gratitude for the support he received, mentioning, “It was a tough few days for me mentally, but all the love you guys have shown certainly helped me. Thank you.”

This incident occurred right after his sixth victory of the 2025 season at Watkins Glen International in New York. Zilisch had climbed onto the roof of his No. 88 car to celebrate but slipped when his foot got caught in the driver’s side window net, leading him to tumble onto the asphalt.

He was initially set to participate in the NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday, but Truckhouse Racing has since withdrawn the No. 87 entry he was supposed to drive. His next Xfinity series race is planned for August 22 at Daytona International Speedway.

Interestingly, he had missed a race at Texas Motor Speedway earlier this season, yet has managed to achieve 11 consecutive top-five finishes and five wins since his return to the track, including four victories in his last five races.

Currently, Zilisch is just seven points ahead of Justin Allgaier in the driver’s standings, boasting 12 top-five finishes and 14 top-10 finishes so far this season.
