It's been three years since Conor McGregor last fought in the UFC Octagon, and the wait will continue.
On Tuesday, the former UFC two-division champion announced he would further delay his return to mixed martial arts in order to compete in a boxing match with YouTuber Logan Paul.
Rumors of a match with [Ilia] Toprio is a lie,” McGregor said. I wrote In the post of X.
“I have a preliminary agreement with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in an Indian boxing exhibition. We have agreed. Then I will seek a return to the Octagon.”
When he's not creating YouTube content, Logan splits his time between WWE and boxing, and he's competed in the squared circle four times. He has one draw and one loss in two matches against fellow YouTuber KSI. Additionally, he drew with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and won against MMA fighter Dillon Danis.
McGregor has been away from the ring for even longer than he has been away from the Octagon. His only boxing match was a 10th round TKO loss to Floyd Mayweather in 2017.
The Irish fighters' latest fight took place in a courtroom.
Last month, an Irish jury found McGregor liable in a December 2018 lawsuit in which a woman accused him of sexual assault.
ESPN reported that the High Court in Dublin ordered the plaintiff to pay 248,000 euros ($257,000). “Mr McGregor, who told the court he had consensual sex with the woman, said he intended to appeal the sentence.”
