Conor McGregor to Fight on White House Lawn Next Summer
Conor McGregor has officially announced that he’ll be on the fight card for a UFC event scheduled for the White House lawn next summer. “It’s definitely true,” he shared, emphasizing his involvement.
Initially, there was some uncertainty regarding whether McGregor, who was supposed to fight on July 4, 2026, would participate in this unique celebration of the United States’ 250th birthday.
“Mac is back—and what better way to celebrate than with a fight on the White House lawn?” he continued, expressing his excitement and motivation for the event.
UFC president Dana White had previously confirmed the event through a social media post. Plans include a fan festival at the National Mall, leading up to the fight.
Interestingly, the date for the event appears to have shifted to June, which McGregor also seemed to confirm in the video. “I’m very happy it’s in June,” he said. “I think it’s even better than July.” It’s kind of wild how things can change so quickly, isn’t it?
Details about other fighters on the card are still unclear, but White did hint at very low odds for attendance—stating it would likely be “less than 5,000” due to heightened security measures. He mentioned that security could prove to be a significant challenge, especially with the Secret Service involved.
On a somewhat surprising note, McGregor is also exploring a political future in Ireland, stating, “My passion isn’t just for fighting or politics—it’s about standing for my country.” I mean, it’s a big leap, but you can’t help but admire his enthusiasm, right?
