Heritage Action, the advocacy arm of the conservative think tank Heritage Foundation, is pressuring Republican senators in nine states to support President-elect Trump's Cabinet picks.
The group is launching a $150,000 digital advertising campaign starting Wednesday and running through Dec. 31. The ads will run in Alaska, Maine, Louisiana, Iowa, North Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana, Utah, South Dakota and the District of Columbia.
“The American people gave President Trump a mandate on November 5th to implement and pass his top priorities as quickly as possible. We must do our part to ensure that we are ready to deliver,” Heritage Action Executive Vice President Ryan Walker said in a statement.
President Trump has already removed one Cabinet member from consideration due to opposition from senators. Former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) withdrew his name as President Trump's attorney general nominee following questions about a sexual misconduct report.
Republicans regained the Senate majority in recent elections, but only up to three of Trump's nominees can defect from the Republican Party if all Democrats vote against it.
Pete Hegseth, President Trump's nominee for secretary of defense, also faces allegations of sexual misconduct, and several other nominees have faced backlash on Capitol Hill.
The group Heritage Action said it would run ads to “encourage residents in each state to sign a petition” urging the state's Republican senators to approve Trump's appointees.
“Heritage Action will remain flexible in the coming weeks and months to ensure the Senate delivers on its promises to the American people,” Walker said in a statement.
