Senate Bill 1, the constitutional implementation bill, passed the Louisiana Senate on Thursday and will now be considered in the House of Representatives.
WWL report The Senate vote was along party lines, with 28 Republicans voting yes and 10 of 11 Democrats voting no.
An 11th Democrat, state Sen. Jay Luhnow, did not attend the vote.
Breitbart News reported that Senate Bill 1 passed the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday by a 6-1 vote. State Sen. Regina Barrow (Democratic) was the only person to vote “no” on implementing the constitution.
Gov. Jeff Landry (R) has said he intends to sign Senate Bill 1 if introduced.
Currently, there are 28 states in the United States that are covered by the Constitution. They are: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Texas. . , Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
