Consultant interrupts Nathan Wade interview when he's pressed about relationship timeline

Nathan Wade’s media consultant interrupted an interview with CNN when pressed about the timeline of his relationship with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D).

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins asked Wade in an interview that aired Wednesday. “origin” As Wade began to answer when his romantic relationship with Willis began, a person CNN identified as Wade’s media consultant appeared to interrupt.

Wade looked away from the camera mid-answer and said he was “taking a cue,” before the microphone was removed and he appeared to stand off to whisper with a media consultant.

“Keep rolling,” I heard someone say behind me.

Collins returned to his seat and asked if everything was “okay” before asking again.

“I’m going to ask you again, but it’s to clarify when the relationship began and when it ended,” she told Wade.

“I think the public is very clear through testimony and other interviews that this is clearly just an act of obstruction,” Wade responded. “That’s an issue that’s not relevant to this case. I think we should be more focused on the facts of the case and the charges.”

Collins responded that issues regarding his relationship with her could be brought before the Georgia Court of Appeals.

The appeals court could hear in October about former President Trump’s efforts to remove Willis from the election interference lawsuit he filed against him. The appeals court last week put Trump’s criminal trial on hold so it could hear his appeal to have Willis removed from the case.

“The Georgia Court of Appeals has properly stayed all trial court litigation against President Trump pending a ruling on our interlocutory appeal arguing that this case should be dismissed and that Fulton County District Attorney Willis should be disbarred for misconduct,” Steve Sadow, Trump’s lead lawyer in Georgia, said in a statement.

Wade, the former Fulton County special prosecutor who led Georgia’s criminal prosecution of former President Trump, resigned in March. Judge Scott McAfee, who is overseeing the case in Fulton County Superior Court, ruled that Willis could continue on the case if Wade resigned.
