Cops say traffic stop for expired license plate turned up ‘plethora’ of drugs, guns near rehab center, daycare

Police in Georgia say a traffic stop over expired tags led to a major drug bust.

Nakayla Moman, 33, was arrested on October 10th for driving a car with an expired license plate. Police said in a Facebook post that officers conducting the traffic stop found multiple drugs and two weapons.

“There’s a large amount of drugs present, from marijuana to methamphetamine to crack cocaine to powder cocaine,” Marietta Police Officer Chuck McPhillamy said. FOX 5 Atlanta, This includes what are known as “crack cookies.”

Moman is said to be the owner of the car. She was arrested and charged with nine felonies, including human trafficking, intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm.

The area where Moman is accused of transporting drugs is reportedly surrounded by a daycare center, several schools, and a substance recovery center called The Zone.

“She’s just destroying other lives,” Danielle Spinney, director of program services for The Zone, told FOX 5. “To get this close, we have childcare centers and schools in the community and recovery centers, and they should feel safe.” There is no need to worry about such things being around. ”

Moman is currently being held in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond.

“This should serve as a good reminder that problems can be hidden in plain sight,” Marietta Police Chief Marty Ferrell said in the department’s Facebook post. “The more we all practice ‘situational awareness’ and remember to call 911 if we see suspicious activity, the safer our communities will be.”
