The top pitcher on the free agent market has found a home.

Corbin Burnes and the Diamondbacks agreed to a six-year, $210 million contract late Friday night. This was reported by the newspaper's reporter John Heyman.

The contract includes an opt-out after two years.

Burns, the 2021 National League Cy Young Award winner, is the top pitcher still on the market after Max Fried signed an eight-year contract with the Yankees.

But the four-time All-Star will be joining a Diamondbacks team one year removed from winning the National League Championship.

It's also a homecoming for Barnes, who lives in Arizona.

He now joins a dynamic and deep Diamondbacks rotation that includes Zac Gallen, Merrill Kelly, Eduardo Rodriguez, Brandon Furt, Ryne Nelson and Jordan Montgomery.

Last year, the right-handed pitcher pitched 194¹/₃ innings with the Orioles and posted a 2.92 ERA.

The 30-year-old posted a 3.19 ERA and 1.06 WHIP over seven seasons.
