Kansas City Chiefs Cornerback Ejected for Punching Opponent

In the fourth quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs’ 22-6 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, cornerback Christian Roland-Wallace found himself in hot water after throwing a punch.

Roland-Wallace was ejected when a CBS replay showed him striking Chargers offensive tackle Alex Harkey’s helmet as Harkey tried to get up after a play.

Interestingly, during the incident, Wallace was also seen being pushed by safety Jayden Hicks as he delivered his left hook.

Before this altercation, Harkey had pushed Wallace into linebacker Nick Bolton right after the play ended. It seems emotions were running high.

Aside from being thrown out, Wallace faced a 15-yard penalty for his actions. Now, he might also be looking at possible suspension and fines. Not exactly a great way to contribute to the game.

Despite the setback, Wallace ended the night with four tackles, three of which were solo efforts.

For the Chargers, this defeat only adds to what’s already been a dismal season, as they now sit at 0-6 coming out of Sunday’s matchup.

The Chargers managed a total of 259 offensive yards but were unable to score a touchdown. Quarterback Justin Herbert got them close, throwing a 57-yard pass to Quentin Johnston that placed them just a yard away from the end zone in the third quarter. But a holding penalty pushed them back, forcing the team to settle for a 30-yard field goal by Cameron Dicker instead.

Herbert completed 22 of 37 passes, totaling 204 yards, but he also threw his eighth interception of the season during the second quarter.

Los Angeles’ running game was another issue, gaining only 73 yards on the ground. In fact, Herbert was the team’s leading rusher with just 26 yards. To add insult to injury, wide receiver Ladd McConkey left the game early in the second quarter due to a concussion after making a 17-yard catch.
