I have to take it all away.
California's Costco has become a fight club, with greedy adults brawling over Pokemon cards that clear store shelves within seconds, risking limb and limb for easy payments.
Wild footage captured shoppers fighting over a ton of coveted Pokemon cards at the Atwater Village Costco in Los Angeles on January 16th.
The card was not a regular Pokemon pack, but the desired 151 Blooming Water Premium Collection pack.
The card collection originally retailed for $120 to $150, but has been popular with resellers and scalpers since the wholesale franchise started listing it for less than $60 last week.
One of the people, who appeared to be a reseller wearing a green jacket, wrapped himself around a young man who was carrying two boxes in a scramble for a box set.
The young man slammed his elbow into the attacker's face as a female shopper yelled at him.
“Please stop,” one shopper said, according to a video posted on X. YouTuber's disguised toast.
The indomitable man held on to the pack as other shoppers struggled to remove it from the scene.
People began ordering other shoppers to call the police due to the disorderly nature of the crowd.
Police were not called to the store and no arrests were made. TMZ reported.
The store said it was responding to the incident internally.
No serious injuries were reported.
Additional footage from Los Angeles-area stores showed store employees yelling at anxious scalper suspects to walk as soon as the store opened.
Very enthusiastic shoppers were seen pushing and shoving around the store to get their hands on the limited edition box set. Poke Beach reported.
Other footage showed people in a mad dash to grab entire boxes full of packs.
Costco has since implemented a “one unit per day per membership” policy for packs.
This pack focuses on the original 151 Pokémon and may include popular individual cards that are worth a considerable amount of money.
The box of cards includes 12 booster packs of the trading card game and four foil cards featuring Bulbasaur ex, Blastoise ex, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle.
The card is for ages 6 and up.
When Costco surprise released the Blooming Water Pack, expectations for the collection were high.
These packs were resold on secondary markets such as eBay and Facebook Marketplace for between $90 and $200.
A 10-pack was selling for $1,564.78 on eBay.
This rare pack will be available at BestBuy and other retailers on February 7th, and Walmart is promoting the set for $166.90.
