Chase Rice Takes a Break from Touring After Over a Decade
Country singer Chase Rice is hitting the pause button after more than ten years of touring.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the 40-year-old artist revealed that he plans to step back from music after a few shows in 2026, citing exhaustion as a major factor.
“Well, here I am, finally addressing this. I’ve been on the road for 13 years, living a dream beyond what I ever thought possible,” Rice expressed.
He quickly clarified that this isn’t a permanent exit. “Just to be clear, this isn’t a breakup with music. It might feel like that, but I’m worn out,” he emphasized.
Rice elaborated that the relentless touring had dulled his connection to both the stage and the music he once cherished. “It’s been a long time since I felt like myself up there. I genuinely enjoy music, but sometimes I even forget what made me start singing,” he wrote, adding, “I love sharing stories through music.”
After over a decade on the road, Rice admitted that it has taken a significant toll on him, both mentally and physically. “After 13 years, I finally reached a point where I needed to step back,” he said. “I want to live my life so I can write more authentic experiences.”
He noted, “I won’t be touring this year, and it wasn’t an easy decision, but I knew it was necessary for me.” He described this hiatus as a significant milestone in his life, mentioning, “Many artists do something similar, but for me, it’s a first, so it’s quite a big deal.”
In his message, he expressed gratitude to those who have been a part of his journey. “To my band and crew, I love you all. You’ve seen me at my worst and continued to support me just as you did at my best,” Rice wrote.
Speaking directly to fans, Rice reassured them that, although his touring plans are changing, his love for music remains strong. “To all the fans who have supported me, I love you too. You’ve truly made my dreams come true,” he stated. “There will be some shows this year, but it won’t be like the last 13 years.”
In sharing his announcement, Rice included a video montage showcasing the energy of his touring life and the gratitude fueling his decision to step back.
His journey to fame started with a college football career, which took a turn after an injury ended his NFL aspirations, prompting him to pursue music instead.
Reflecting on his journey, he shared, “I’ve had a very blessed life, but a few obstacles have come up, which is fine. In the end, I’ve worked really hard to achieve what I have.”
