Beyonce topped the charts with her country album “Cowboy Carter,” but she clearly doesn’t belong in this music genre, because she got shut right out of the CMA Awards.
The famous singer went rogue with her cowboy theme, and saw huge success with her hit single, “Texas Hold ‘Em.” She somehow proved she could dominate in this realm when her album spent four weeks at the top of Billboard’s country chart, but that didn’t necessarily mean everyone became an instant fan. Some loved it. Some hated it – and I’m not sure why she even tried it.

Beyonce was celebrated when she became the first Black woman to have the No. 1 song on Billboard’s Hot Country chart, but that seems to be as far as she can take this ride.
She veered well out of her lane when she dipped her toes in the country music scene, and it was a weird transition. She looked like she was playing dress-up in her costumes, and it just isn’t a natural fit. Her country songs are mediocre at best, and it is obvious that she isn’t a natural. When I think about Beyonce, I don’t imagine her belonging in country music, and clearly, the powers that be at the Country Music Awards feel the same way I do.
The powerhouse singer may have seen short-term success with her album, but she’s not fooling anyone – she’s not good enough to be honored with an award. She didn’t receive a single nomination at the 2024 CMAs despite the high ranking album, and the message is clear. Producing a few country tunes doesn’t mean she’s a country music star.
The famous singer is whining about not being nominated, and her devoted fans are causing a stink on social media. Have we so quickly forgotten that Beyonce was booed when she performed with The Chicks in 2016? That really should have been her cue. She doesn’t embody the country music energy. Her outfits and attempts to take over the country music scene are far too strategic – there’s nothing authentic about it.
In brighter news, Morgan Wallen has 7 nominations at the CMAs. Chris Stapleton and Cody Johnson have 5 nominations each. These folks are the real-deal. Beyonce seems like she’s just trying to make money grow in areas she doesn’t belong in. (RELATED: Kim Kardashian And Beyonce Morphed Into Cowgirls. Can We Stop Now?)
She should stay where she is celebrated, and I think it was brilliant for the CMAs to wipe her out of the running on their awards night. Maybe she can go play seductive-cowgirl-dress-up somewhere else.
