Country music stars racism Texas music festival “incident”

Jason Whitlock has a new segment on his show called “Justice for TT” in which he finds the “most outlandish… far-fetched claims of racism” and “demands justice” (i.e., mocks their absurdity).

Today’s theme is War and Treaty, a husband-and-wife country music duo who became enraged when they discovered a plant backstage at the Coca-Cola Ships & Sounds Summer Festival in Texas.

Country music stars speak out about racism after Texas music festival ‘incident’Youtube

“War & Treaty feel ‘betrayed’ after finding cotton plants in dressing room,” Jason says, quoting a People magazine headline.

The pair found the plant’s presence “deeply disturbing”, according to the article, with Tanya Trotter saying she was particularly upset because she is “the granddaughter of a tenant farmer”.

“This isn’t just a racism issue, it’s much more widespread now,” she said. “This is now a safety issue because people need to feel safe when they come to these festivals.”

Tanya’s husband, Michael Trotter, also pleaded guilty to his wife’s crimes.

“I feel anger. I feel disrespect. I feel sadness, not just for what that plant represents to people like me, but for me being a son of this country,” he lamented.

Jason thinks the “incident” is funny and certainly worthy of ridicule.

“Are these people wearing cotton underwear? Are they wearing cotton T-shirts? What is the limit?” he asks.

Apparently Tanya Trotter’s “grandfather actually bought the farm where they picked cotton” and her family “still live there,” but to Jason this just seems hypocritical.

“Your grandfather bought a farm to grow cotton. So when he walked out the door and saw the cotton fields, did he think, ‘Oh my goodness, there’s cotton. This is so traumatic!'” he asks.

“People magazine and many other media outlets have picked up the story and taken it seriously,” Jason laughed, adding that this is clearly the work of people “who want to hunt down racism.”
