Riley Green Stays Rooted in Alabama Despite Nashville’s Glamour
Country artist Riley Green has plenty of reasons to relocate, yet he remains committed to his Alabama roots rather than heading to Nashville.
During an interview at the premiere of “The Marshalls,” Green expressed that the allure of a career in Tennessee pales in comparison to the satisfaction he finds in his Alabama farm. “I feel like there’s every reason to move to Nashville, but I never thought about it. I love my farm in Alabama; it’s where I get all my inspiration for songs,” he said.
He further described life on the farm as refreshingly slow-paced, stating, “Life moves much more slowly there.” When he has time off, he really enjoys just being there. “When I’m at the farm, I try to do as little as possible, but we always make time to get on the tractor, tidy up a bit, and let Pop help out. I’ve got a bunch of animals and dogs, so it’s all about relaxation for me,” Green explained.
In a previous statement, he noted that while chasing a music career is tough work, he sees his “real life” unfolding in farming and hunting back home. “I don’t have to talk myself into it too much,” he mentioned. “Having my own place in Alabama is all I need. When I go back, life just moves slower.”
Interestingly, he also pondered the contrast between showbiz life and reality. “What we do for a living is not real life. It’s not really real when people scream your name before you perform… While it’s exciting, it’s still about building a brand,” he admitted. He added that personally, he would much rather be on a bulldozer on his farm than dealing with the hustle of fame.
Green is set to make his acting debut in the “Yellowstone” spinoff, “The Marshalls,” starring Luke Grimes. Speaking about his nerves on set, he contrasted it with performing. “I was definitely more anxious. I don’t get nervous going on stage anymore, but this was a whole different world for me,” he said, feeling like an outsider among seasoned actors.
The spinoff will be premiering on Sunday, March 1, 2026, on CBS, and Green is both excited and apprehensive about his new role.
