Country singer Megan Moloney is speaking out about her former relationship with Morgan Wallen.

“I’ve never been in a relationship,” the “Am I Okay?” singer said, “But I’m going to tell you this because I’ve never told anyone this before.” [He] And then in 2020 we met. [Fellow country artist] Actually, Jon Langston introduced us. I was a senior in college, the pandemic hadn’t happened yet, and his album Dangerous hadn’t even come out yet. So we’ve been friends for a long time.”
“We’ve been friends for a long time. We weren’t just friends. And now we are friends,” she added.

Moloney admitted that he had “tried to avoid” questions about their relationship in previous interviews, adding, “But we’re here now, the time has passed and everything is fine.”
Fans of both artists began speculating that the two were romantically involved when Moloney released the hit single “Tennessee Orange,” a song about the University of Tennessee football team, of which Warren is known to be an avid supporter, the Tennessee Volunteers.

Following the song’s release, Warren and Moloney began commenting on each other’s Instagram posts. Warren further fueled speculation by releasing a song called “Tennessee Fan,” which tells the story of a girl who becomes a Tennessee Vols fan after meeting a man.
“[He] And then in 2020 we met. [Fellow country artist] Actually, Jon Langston introduced us. I was a senior in college, the pandemic hadn’t happened yet, and his album Dangerous hadn’t even come out yet. So we’ve been friends for a long time.”
“I think he’s a very private person,” she says. “We were never exclusively in a relationship and our schedules…when we wanted to go out together it was like, ‘OK, there’s one day a month we’re both in town,’ and then the other person has something planned.”
As for keeping their brief relationship a secret, Moloney explained, “He’s a very private person, so I feel uncomfortable talking about it.”

When asked by host Alex Cooper if “Tennessee Orange” was about Warren, she replied, “I never say who I’m singing about.”
In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Moloney spoke about his budding music career, saying he “really doesn’t have time for love” because he puts all his time and energy into making music.

“I think it’s because I’m not emotionally available, I’m not ready to find someone that I want to marry right now, because it’s not in the top 10 things in my mind right now,” she explained. “So I’m like, let’s not waste anybody’s time, let’s not date right now, because it’s that time of year.”
Her efforts are evident as she promotes her second studio album, “Am I Okay?”, which was released this month, just one year after the release of her debut album, “Lucky,” in May 2023.

“This album feels like a continuation of Lucky because it’s only been a year since those two albums came out,” she says, “but it’s really about my real-life experiences. I think it has a more intense feel to it, so the happy songs are happier and the sad songs are sadder. There are songs about friends, which I’ve never written about before. There are songs about sadness, which I’ve never written about before. So I think there’s something for everyone and it’s an opportunity for my fans to get to know me a little better.”
