A stray kitten was adopted by a loving couple after their wedding was disrupted last year.
Cat owner Carla posted a meow-filled wedding video on TikTok, which received more than 3 million likes. The wedding took place in September 2023 at the Curry Estate in Hopewell Junction, New York.
In the video, the groom is reading his vows to his bride when suddenly the audience hears the meowing of a cat named Daisy.
Carla told Fox News Digital that she didn’t originally hear the chatty cat.

“We were so focused on the moment and what each other was saying,” she explained. “But we noticed that the audience and bridal party were starting to laugh!”
Later, Carla’s sister, who was the maid of honor, called the couple’s attention to the issue.
”[She] “He told us that there was a cat meowing right there. The cat was perched on the tree stump behind us, demanding to be heard,” the wife explained.
Carla said she and her husband were already “huge cat lovers” before the ceremony, and the cat’s unexpected appearance was a highlight.
“We have a cat, Gatsby, that we adopted together. [and] “Our friends were given the nickname Cat (Carla + Matt) by a celebrity and even had a cat cake topper,” she explained.

“When she showed up, it felt like this was all destiny.”
After the bride and groom fell in love with the kitten, family and friends desperately searched for the kitten, but were unable to find it.
“All anyone could talk about was cats. That was the highlight of the night…I knew I had to get a cat.”

Two weeks later, Kara and Matt received a call from the wedding venue. After days of effort, staff were able to lure a stray cat using leftover shrimp from a past wedding.
“We were on our honeymoon [when they said] They got her and we were going to head to the shelter if we wanted to adopt her,” Carla explained.
Carla said Daisy has integrated perfectly into the family. She was named after Daisy Buchanan from The Great Gatsby, in keeping with her brother Gatsby.
“She is the most loving cat and loves nothing more than spending the day curled up in our sweaters,” Carla said. “She got even better because her native cat, Gatsby, quickly became friends with her.”

“It was so great to have her and share her story with everyone,” she added. “Her husband Matt doesn’t believe in fate, but she said it’s pretty hard not to believe in Daisy!”
