Couple Dies After Their Ferrari Goes Off The Road Into a River in Spain

Tragic Accident in Spain

A British couple, aged 78 and 58, tragically lost their lives in a car accident while navigating a mountain road in Spain. Their Ferrari veered off the path and plunged into a river. The incident took place on May 10th around 2 PM during a Ferrari rally.

Reports indicate that the couple was part of a group of about 20 Ferrari enthusiasts who had gathered to enjoy the scenic drive. They had arrived in Leon just a day prior to the accident. As they made their way along the winding N-621 mountain path, their black Ferrari 488 lost control and overturned, ending up upside down in the Yuse River.

This highway is famous for its breathtaking views, but it’s also notorious for its challenging bends and sharp curves. Images from the scene show the vehicle partially submerged in the river, with personal belongings like a sun hat left in the seats. Firefighters had to flip the car over during recovery efforts, which were complicated by dense vegetation along the riverbank.

It’s still unclear whether the couple were owners of the car or if they had suffered injuries that led to the crash. Eyewitnesses commented on the situation, highlighting the need for caution when driving high-power vehicles like the 700-horsepower Ferrari 488. Investigations are ongoing, as local authorities work to piece together what led to this tragic accident.

The Ferrari 488 GT Modificata, involved in the incident, is a remarkable car that can accelerate to 60 miles per hour in just under three seconds, emphasizing the power and thrill associated with such vehicles.
