Investigation Launched After South Carolina Couple Found Dead

Authorities are investigating the deaths of a couple in their home in South Carolina, treating the case as a homicide. The local sheriff’s office is seeking assistance from the public to help clarify the situation.

The victims have been identified as Larry Moore, aged 76, and his wife, Sandra Moore, 75. Family members became concerned and called 911 Thursday evening after being unable to reach them.

A statement from the Oconee County Coroner’s Office revealed that both individuals died from trauma. However, the specifics of their injuries are being withheld to maintain the integrity of the ongoing investigation.

It remains unclear when exactly the couple was killed or how long they had been in their home before being found. Deputies mentioned that their last known contact was earlier in the week.

Law enforcement officials believe that the incident is isolated, assuring the community that there is no ongoing threat. Still, the homicide probe is actively continuing.

Calvary Church, a place the couple attended, expressed its sorrow in a message to congregants. They described Larry and Sandra as “devoted long-time members” and urged the community to keep their families in thoughts and prayers.

Friends and family depicted the Moores as kind, loyal individuals deeply embedded in their community. Church members referred to them as the “backbone” of the congregation, and their loved ones highlighted their dedication to service.

Additionally, the couple famously owned Moore & Moore Fish Camp for several decades before retiring in 2016. Investigators are appealing for any information, including home security footage from days leading up to the couple’s discovery.
