A couple known for their TikTok videos was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly setting fire to an abandoned home in West Virginia, which may have caused over $10,000 in damages to a nearby church.
Dakota Harper, 21, and Felicity Eatmon, 22, face charges of first-degree arson along with a charge of conspiracy to commit an act that could lead to a life sentence, as indicated by the Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
The couple gained popularity on social media, gathering around 28,000 followers on TikTok.
Interestingly, a video from Harper’s arraignment has gone viral, primarily because of his height—he is reported to be 3 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 43 pounds. During the court proceeding, he had a seat adjusted by an officer, and one could barely see his head above the desk.
Eatmon, who identifies as Harper’s fiancée in their online content, also appeared in court; she measures 5 feet 1 inch tall. Reports state that the fire incident occurred late Sunday night in Charleston’s West Side.
Surveillance footage allegedly captured Eatmon handing a lit piece of paper to Harper, which he then placed inside the vacant house. Investigators revealed that the property was abandoned and lacked active utilities. The remnants of the fire were still smoldering the following morning.
The nearby Canaan United Methodist Church experienced considerable damage due to the blaze, according to complaints filed.
Currently, both Harper and Eatmon are being held on a bond of $10,000 each.
