Kentucky Couple Arrested After Child Suffocates

A couple from Kentucky has been arrested following the tragic death of their one-year-old son, who suffocated in a dirty diaper while in a garage filled with hazardous waste and filth.

Deavan Williams, 22, faces murder charges relating to the incident, while the child’s mother, Alexandrae Price, also 22, is charged with child abuse, according to reports.

Documents from the Allen County District Court reveal that Williams was reportedly watching over the child on July 27 when the infant “swallowed part of a fecal-contaminated diaper” and suffocated.

The baby was rushed to a nearby hospital, where medical staff noted “suspected trauma, including bleeding in the mouth and bruising on the body.”

During questioning, Williams allegedly acknowledged that he was aware the baby had eaten a dirty diaper before suffocating but claimed he was asleep during the incident.

Investigators found that the living conditions were abysmal, with the child being raised in a garage overflowing with trash long before the tragedy occurred.

A police affidavit stated that Williams “knowingly exposed a child under the age of 12 to extreme danger and cruel punishment.” The couple lived in an unair-conditioned garage littered with debris, including trash, beer cans, dirty diapers, and large amounts of cat urine, with the child’s playpen situated directly on the contaminated floor.

The playpen itself was found to contain “animal urine, animal feces, raw sewage, decomposing animals, and other hazardous conditions.”

Furthermore, the couple admitted to bathing their son with a hose outside, expressing surprise that he had not contracted any parasites given the filthy environment. They also reportedly fed the child very spicy food and allowed him to ingest dangerous items like diapers and couch cushions.

Price mentioned that the living area was infested with flies and spiders, with a substantial amount of trash and debris creating serious health risks. The environment was described as humid and poorly ventilated, which could further exacerbate health concerns.

Both Williams and Price are currently held at the Allen County Detention Center and are set to appear in court on Wednesday.
