“Oh!” Alan said off camera.

The couple managed to survive the landslide unscathed.

Several semi-trucks and other small vehicles pulled up behind it, while other cars pulled up to the side of Interstate 40.

Debris, including rocks, collapsed onto the interstate, higher than the semi-truck directly behind Keffer's car, and over a cement barrier on the side of the road.

Mud splattered the windshield, making it difficult to see behind the couple's car.

Interstate 40 was one of several interstates closed in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee following numerous disasters caused by the devastating storm.

Buncombe County experienced the most destruction in North Carolina. Most of the damage and deaths occurred in Asheville, North Carolina, where Lake Lure Dam was destroyed during the storm.
