Heist at Arizona Steakhouse
A couple managed to pull off a surprising theft at a high-end steakhouse in Arizona, making off with a $4,000 bottle of rare cognac. The staff at the restaurant were left astonished, noting they’ve never witnessed anything quite like it.
Surveillance footage from Three Thirty Three Restaurant in Tempe captures the couple in action on May 4. In the video, the woman discreetly takes the bottle of Louis XIII Cognac, valued at $4,000, and places it into her purse.
“You didn’t need to steal from us,” expressed John DeVries, who has over 40 years of experience in the restaurant industry. He added, “You stole from me and this family here. That’s not right. We’re going to catch you and prosecute.”
Interestingly, this theft didn’t appear to be a spur-of-the-moment decision, according to the restaurant staff. The couple reportedly made a reservation using fake names and numbers, showed up late, and only ordered appetizers while creating minor disruptions.
In the video, the man can be seen blocking the manager’s line of sight, allowing the woman to sneak back, grab the high-end bottle from a service cart, and conceal it in her bag.
After the theft, the duo quickly exited and drove away in a black SUV, as reported by Chaos Hospitality Group, the restaurant’s owner. The establishment has reached out to the public for assistance in identifying the culprits.
The Tempe police have been informed and are currently investigating the incident, but, as of now, no further details are available.
