The Appeal Court has blocked the Biden administration's rules for the airline to pay for the service fee.
On Tuesday, the Ministry of Transport (DOT) said that it did not comply with the rules of procedures, such as providing the opportunity to comment on the research used to create rules.
Last year, the major airline group appealed to the Biden administration last year for the rules for disclosing additional costs, also known as junk rates. They argued that this rule would confuse consumers, claiming that they had already spent a considerable amount of time to confirm their customers.
Under the rules of the Biden era, which was temporarily blocked in the summer but was allowed to endure, the airline needs to disclose additional charges before the customer makes the final purchase. This may include checked luggage, carry -on baggage, reservation change or additional costs.
The Tuesday ruling stated that DOT had the authority to write a fee disclosure rules that would particularly deal with unfair or deceived customs, but the affected company could weigh the weight. He added that he should have allowed it.
Now we return to the department to deal with the error in the procedure, but we don't know what will happen under the new Trump administration.
The lawsuit was submitted to the fifth round of the appeal court, which confirmed the disclosure rules last year after the Biden administration attempted to crack down on junk rates.
The hill reached out to the dots for comments.
