Legal Dispute Involving Hunter Biden and His Daughter
A recent court document from Lunden Roberts, who had a brief relationship with Hunter Biden leading to the birth of their daughter, Navy Joan, highlights serious concerns regarding his lack of involvement in her life. Now seven years old, Navy has not had any contact with her father, which Roberts alleges is a complete disregard for their agreement.
Roberts, now 34, described her relationship with Hunter as informal and intermittent, lasting about one to two years. In her recent emotional petition presented to the court, she is requesting permission for Hunter to re-establish contact with Navy. This follows her earlier petition aiming to reopen a child support case against him.
Back in 2023, Roberts settled with Hunter, agreeing to a reduced child support payment of $5,000 per month. In return, Hunter was supposed to develop a relationship with Navy, including providing her with several of his original paintings worth around $500,000 each. However, according to Roberts, he has not followed through on these commitments.
In a court filing dated January 13, Roberts expressed frustration, claiming that Hunter had completely “ghosted” Navy and failed to deliver any art pieces that had been chosen specifically for her. Although Roberts did receive some of Hunter’s artwork, she noted that they were not the pieces Navy eagerly wanted.
“MC1 received several paintings, but they were chosen by Mr. Biden and not MC1. His actions represent a blatant violation of the court’s previous orders. It’s crucial that the child chooses a painting, as this may be the only genuine connection she has with her father,” the documents state.
Now, Roberts is requesting that an Arkansas judge hold Hunter in contempt of court until he meets the requirements set forth in their agreement. She emphasized that Navy has often expressed her desire to connect with her father, who remains unresponsive.
Navy, referred to as ‘MC1’ in the legal documents, has shared her feelings, once stating, “I couldn’t wait to get there” when talking about being with him in the afterlife. She believes he’s far too busy to communicate,” Roberts wrote.
Initially, Hunter denied paternity, but a court-ordered DNA test confirmed he is indeed the father. Following this, he agreed to pay child support.
“At first, the child and father began to build a relationship, which is essential for them,” noted Roberts’ filing.
However, by 2024, Biden cut off all communication without explanation, ignoring calls from Navy, who was only five at the time. Roberts mentioned a poignant moment when Navy faced disappointment during a family wedding, realizing that her father was absent during significant moments.
“She felt heartbroken, especially because her father didn’t walk her down the aisle or dance at the reception,” Roberts reported.
In his memoir published in 2021, Biden claimed he had “no recollection” of ever meeting Roberts, yet text messages from his laptop suggest otherwise, indicating he met her in a strip club in Washington, D.C., and later offered her a job.
The couple’s relationship started around December 2017, with Navy’s birth occurring the following August. Documents show that shortly after Navy was born, Biden directed an assistant to remove Roberts from his company’s health insurance.
Roberts is now stressing that incarceration may be necessary to ensure that Biden adheres to the terms of their agreement, arguing he tends to comply only when threatened with consequences. She is also seeking an increase in child support, although the amount remains undisclosed.
Currently, a lawsuit in Arkansas underscores Roberts’ claims that Biden has not upheld the agreement made in 2023, which included a stipulation for him to set aside some art sale proceeds for Navy’s benefit. In a previous concession, she agreed not to change her daughter’s last name to Biden in exchange for these terms.
