Courteney Cox Recalls Famous Musician Dumping Her The Moment Therapy Began

“Friends” star Courteney Cox admitted she was blindsided when her fiancé Johnny McDade dumped her a minute into their first therapy session.

Cox revealed intimate details about the incident, saying that she attended therapy to repair and strengthen their relationship, but suddenly it all came to an end. “So three years later we broke up, and it was really intense. We broke up during therapy,” Cox told Minnie Driver on the Minnie Questions podcast. “He just broke up within the first minute. And I thought, ‘What?’ We were engaged and it was such a shock. It was very painful. ”

Cox said she had booked therapy to discuss “boundaries,” but “he just broke up” before the session got heated.

The famous actress called McDade a “wonderful human being” and explained that their relationship had come to an end.

“He wasn’t trying to surprise me; he was just in so much pain in the relationship,” she said.

“There was so much to deal with that he had to protect his heart.”

The future they had planned together was unexpectedly cut short, and despite all the emotions associated with it, Cox admitted that the breakup gave her an opportunity for introspection and growth.

“I learned how to take back my voice and my boundaries. What was my motivation in life? Like, what was my role in this?” according to her. said this on the podcast Yahoo News.

Cox and McDade began dating in 2013 and got engaged nine months later. Their relationship ended at the end of 2015. The two still have a close relationship, but have not yet re-engaged.
