George Pickens Excited for New Chapter with Cowboys

George Pickens is gearing up for his debut season with the Dallas Cowboys after his trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers following a challenging 2024 season. It seems like he’s looking forward to this “fresh start” and even took a subtle shot at his previous team.

“I’m definitely excited to run a better play,” he mentioned, hinting at his eagerness to contribute effectively in a new environment.

During his time with the Steelers, Pickens recorded 59 catches for 900 yards and three touchdowns under head coach Mike Tomlin. Now, he’ll be working with new Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer and offensive coordinator Clayton Adams, both looking to bring a fresh strategy to the team.

He likened his partnership with teammate CeeDee Lamb to “Mario Bros.”—an interesting choice that brings a sense of camaraderie and fun to their potential on-field chemistry. “Yeah, certainly. Different styles of play exist between us, but when you tie it together, it feels like magic,” he added, expressing optimism about their collaboration.

Last season, Lamb received 152 targets, significantly more than any other player on the team as injuries took a toll on the offense. As the Cowboys look to strengthen their attack with Pickens on board, it seems there’s a lot of potential for exciting developments ahead.

Adding Pickens appears to be a strategic move, likely designed to enhance the team’s offensive capabilities. Fans and analysts alike will surely be watching closely as he embarks on this new journey with the Cowboys.
