Mark's Bell suffered a gruesome injury during the first half of the “Monday Night Football” game between the Cowboys and Texans.
As the Cowboys safety attempted to tackle Dameon Pierce returning the kickoff, Bell's left arm bent back awkwardly, causing the defender severe pain.
He was also seen trying to grab Bell's left arm as he fell to the ground.
The injury occurred early with 14:51 left in the second quarter.
Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Bell “came off the field with medical assistance” and was holding his left arm.
Bell reportedly immediately headed to the medical tent and then to the locker room before being ruled out for the remainder of the game by the Cowboys due to a shoulder injury.
Monday was Bell's ninth appearance of the season, recording six total tackles and five solo tackles.
Bell is in his third season with the Cowboys, joining the team as an undrafted free agent.
Bell, a native of Bridgeton, New Jersey, spent three years at Florida A&M (the 2020 season was canceled due to the coronavirus) and appeared in 17 games with the Cowboys in 2023.
The Cowboys' season remains in limbo after Monday night's loss to the Texans.
At the end of the first half alone, the Cowboys gave up 80 rushing yards along with two touchdowns in the first quarter.
The game ended with the Texans scoring 34 points against the Cowboys as a heartbroken Jerry Jones watched from the owner's suite inside AT&T Stadium.
With the loss, the Cowboys fall to 3-7 and will face the Commanders in the NFC East in Week 12.
