Cowboys star Micah Parsons is looking off the football field to improve his football skills for next season.
The three-time Defensive Player of the Year finalist and three-time Pro Bowler recently tested himself. Sumo wrestlers featured in viral video Captured in Japan.
While on a trip to Asia with Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud, Parsons went one-on-one with a sumo wrestler in Tokyo.
On the first attempt, the wrestler defeated Parsons and pushed him outside the circular ring.
Stroud quickly teased him with a “too small” celebration before making a gesture similar to hugging a baby, which opposing wrestlers imitated towards Parsons.
“Get it back,” the Cowboys star replied. “I feel like I’m going to bump my foot every day.”
In the second round, Parsons got his revenge, continuing to shout “Good luck” in celebration, eventually returning the “too small” gesture to the wrestler.
However, Parsons was not new to the wrestling ring, growing up as a wrestler from an early age and considering returning to the sport during his senior year in high school, when he was a freshman at Penn State football. According to Penn Live.
Perhaps his wrestling background has contributed to his success in football, as he looks to record at least 13 sacks for the fourth year in a row next season.
Stroud and Parsons are currently in Tokyo until May 9th.
Previously, they had also traveled to China, visiting Beijing and Shanghai.
The pair also hit jabs at each other as they threw First pitch ceremony before the game against the Tokyo Giants.
Although Parsons claimed that Parsons’ batted ball was behind Stroud’s partner, Stroud threw a clean pitch and Parsons bounced short of the catcher.
