Cowboys’ Micah Parsons weighs in on NBA-NFL player debate: ‘It ain’t hard to dunk’

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons weighed in on the debate over whether NBA players can adapt to the NFL or vice versa, hitting back at former guard Lou Williams.

“My problem with where this conversation is going is that I don’t like the fact that NFL players are saying, ‘You guys are weak, you’re going to fail.’ You’re weak, you’re going to fail.’ This and that,” Williams said. “Let’s face it, moms fail too. Isn’t football just about running, jumping and catching? Yes, it’s agility. It’s smart. It’s chess. Opponents from the line. “I’m trying to get rid of you.”

“I respect all of them. But when you start talking about basketball players being this or that soft, basketball is a lot more contact-heavy than we give it credit for. On either side. There’s also a problem, brother, and we don’t want to be the only ones getting swayed by this conversation, but let’s not let any of you catch that ball either. Let’s talk about physicality.”

Mr. Parsons responded to Mr. Williams with a post about X.

Parsons participated in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game in February. He scored 37 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.

The whole discussion started last week when Austin Rivers claimed in an interview on “The Pat McAfee Show” that he could take 30 NBA players and seamlessly transition them into the NFL.

“You can’t put 30 NFL players into the NBA,” Rivers said.

Amid criticism from JJ Watt, Rivers further explained his point.

“@JJWatt played for 11 years [in the NBA] Brosky.In fact, I might play next year…then it would be my 12th time,” Rivers posted, “…looks like someone I know. Respect you. [sic] A football legend held it down for his brother. My comment was not meant to be rude. It just goes to show how athletic some of his NBA players are…
