The ongoing resolution (CR) had “some incredible Republican aspects,” Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA) said during his appearance. Breitbart News Daily.
Although Clyde said he was not a CR fan, this particular bill “had an incredible Republican aspect that made it more than just a continuous solution.”
“So here we have the actual cuts and the freeze on spending. We're eliminating all the goals. You know, the $12 billion goal. Some of that money was diverted to the Department of Defense to pay for the pay raises for our enlisted people, but I thought it was a good thing. And some of it was actually savings,” explained Clyde.
“I think it really cost $7 billion to save money. And you know, you have this continuation of this government. We have so we can't let the government close. President Trump does such a great job. He doesn't need to put obstacles in front of him,” he explained, praised the government's efficiency (DOGE) for doing a good job, saying he must continue to access “all databases in the enforcement department so that we can continue to find waste, fraud and abuse.”
“I mean, I wake up every morning and see what they found the day before and want to continue doing it. And we have Russ Vert as OMB Director, the Management and Budget Office you know, and associate director Dan Bishop from the Free Caucus,” he said, describing these men as “Financial Hawks.”
Republican-led Congress actually strives for efficiency, saves money and works with the administrative department “doesn't pay for these radical left-wing aspects of the federal government.”

“So you know, I have to put some trust in them,” he said, using the Department of Education as an example, deeming it “unconstitutional.”
“It's an unconstitutional division created by Jimmy Carter in the '70s. And what's going on, it's now reduced by at least 50%. That's phenomenal,” he added, noting that the administration is reinstalling trust in the federal government and that they have to continue doing that.
“A continuous solution that actually cuts a little will have to be signed by the 14th, but budget adjustments will see a massive cut in mandatory spending, a $2 trillion cut — perhaps the end of April, the first part of May,” Clyde said.
“And you have the President's 2026 budget. This is discretionary spending. This is all spending of all other federal agencies. You will see that we will pass it to the Approximate Appropriations Committee by July – I am involved with that committee, and we will see it by September 30th, when this ongoing resolution expires,” he explained, deeming this a “stimulating time.”
“For the next six months you'll see something you've never seen before in the federal government, and it's all because of President Donald Trump's incredible leadership,” he added.
