Authorities have safely detonated three World War II-era bombs found in Florida Bay.
The bomb was disposed of after being discovered in January in Choctawhatchee Bay in the state’s panhandle.
Video shared on Facebook shows Okaloosa County working with partner agencies to detonate a universal bomb.
“Fire in the hole, fire in the hole, fire in the hole,” a man’s voice was heard before each explosion caused water to rise from the surface.

The video left some people wondering how the bomb ended up in the bay in the first place. Two were discovered by an Army Corps of Engineers environmental remediation contractor, and the third was discovered during a routine Air Force survey.
“I hope no one has plans to fish in that area next year,” one Facebook user wrote in response to a subsequent Okaloosa County Commission post that included a photo of the explosion.

Eglin Air Force Base identified the unexploded ordnance as “two 250-pound bombs and one 1,000-pound bomb” in a Facebook post.
The Okaloosa County Commission thanked the Fort Walton Yacht Club for allowing it to “coordinate a multi-agency effort from its premises.”
