Ronaldo Discusses Trump in Interview

Soccer icon Cristiano Ronaldo recently opened up about President Donald Trump during an interview with Piers Morgan. A teaser for this interview was made public on Tuesday.

Morgan brought up an autographed jersey that Ronaldo had given to Trump back in June, which featured the message “Play for peace.” Ronaldo remarked, “He is one of the players who can help change the world.” This was his way of sending a message to the president.

In June, Ronaldo signed the most lucrative contract extension in soccer’s history with Al Nasr, a Saudi Professional League team, marking him as the first billionaire footballer. Reflecting on this achievement, he told Morgan, “It was my goal to reach that number. I’m not obsessed with money, but once you reach a certain level, it doesn’t matter as much, though it’s always nice to have more.”

Thoughts on Retirement

Ronaldo also shared some insights regarding his plans for retirement, expressing a desire to focus more on family. He mentioned that he would announce his decision to retire “soon.” He acknowledged the emotional weight of stepping away, saying, “It’s going to be tough and difficult. I’m probably going to cry, yes. But I’ve been preparing for my future since I was 25 or 26. Scoring goals gives an adrenaline rush, but everything has a beginning and an end.”

Now 40, Ronaldo has been in a relationship with Georgina Rodriguez since 2017. The couple recently announced their engagement, and Rodriguez showcased her large engagement ring in an Instagram post with a heartfelt caption in Spanish.

Praising his fiancée, Ronaldo mentioned in his interview that, “Gio is unique. She takes care of me, which is very important. She manages the family and the home, which takes a lot of effort. If you want to switch roles, I can’t manage that. Honestly, men don’t handle that well.” He appreciates how she understands and supports both him and the family.
