Pope Francis was hospitalized on Monday to fight pneumonia in both lungs and is in danger, the Vatican said amid global concerns about the health of sick clergymen.
The Pope initially cared for the complex pulmonary infections that caused the early stages of kidney failure, the Vatican said.
AFP Report The 88-year-old head of the Catholic Church was admitted to Gemeri Hospital in Rome on February 14th, with difficulty breathing and his condition worsening.
But the Vatican morning bulletin said: “The night went well, the Pope is asleep and resting.”
Francis “wakes up and continues his treatment,” a Vatican source said.

He was “feeling good,” “can get out of bed,” “no pain,” and “normal,” the source said.
Francis' longest hospitalization of Pope has led to the pouring of support to the Pope with prayers around the world and prayers left outside the hospital, the AFP report notes.
His first bronchitis developed into double pneumonia, and on Saturday the Vatican first warned that the Pope's status was important.
The doctor said Francis' condition is moving given his age, vulnerability and existing lung disease. They say that the main threat facing Francis is Sepsisa serious infection of blood that can occur as a complication of pneumonia.
