Critics Target 'White Lotus' Star Jennifer Coolidge for Showing Support for Charlie Kirk on Instagram

After realizing that some social media users had “liked” conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s Instagram account, a wave of backlash followed Jennifer Coolidge, star of White Lotus.

Fans pointed out that Coolidge has liked posts from politicians across the spectrum, including Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, and Jill Biden. However, they seemed to agree that simply liking an account doesn’t equate to an endorsement. The quirky actress’s activity led to her facing criticism, as reported by Daily Mail.

One user shared a screenshot of Coolidge’s like, stating, “After this, it’s over for Jennifer Coolidge.” Another chimed in with disbelief, saying, “Please tell me this isn’t real.”

Frustrated, a former fan expressed, “This is painful,” while someone else remarked, “We’ve lost another white blonde middle-aged woman to the cause.”

A social media user from the LGBTQ+ community lamented, “They took her from us,” suggesting that possibly, Coolidge’s alignment had created distance from her fans. For many years, the 64-year-old actress has been cherished by this community.

Another user echoed common misconceptions about Kirk, saying, “The gay icon is following a man who thinks gays should die.”

Some added racial commentary, with one user stating, “This is why we need to stop blindly supporting white celebrities. It’s bound to break your heart.” Another user commented on the situation, stating, “It’s surprising when white women lean MAGA. Most people are laughing out loud.”

It’s uncertain if Coolidge manages her own Instagram account or if she has someone else handling it, as is common among celebrities, but her account has not liked Charlie Kirk’s.

Interestingly, the account also follows numerous left-leaning Instagram profiles. Among them are extreme left-wing outlets like Mediastouch, Rosie O’Donnell, Don Lemon, and the staunchly anti-conservative podcast “I Did It.”

At the Emmy Awards on Sunday, Coolidge shared a humorous story about being removed from an actor’s group chat. She learned of her expulsion when Crown actress Elizabeth Debicki mentioned sharing an Ozempic dealer—but, of course, she was kicked out.
