First Look at Season 2 of House of David
The studio behind the popular streaming series House of David has unveiled the initial photos from Season 2, offering a sneak peek into the ongoing saga of the renowned Biblical king.
On Thursday, Wonder Project shared eight new images from the upcoming season. Among the highlights are King Saul alongside David, a snapshot of David with his future wife Michal, Saul on horseback amid battle, and the prophet Samuel gazing thoughtfully into the distance. Additionally, one striking image shows David standing triumphantly over the defeated Goliath, sword in hand.
Mark your calendars, as Season 2 will debut exclusively on Prime Video through Wonder Project’s service on October 5.
In their social media updates, the studio hasn’t revealed much about the plot, merely stating, “A hero’s victory can lead to a precarious ascent to power.”
John Irwin, the creator and co-director of House of David, remarked that this new season will be “bigger” than the first. He stated that there’s a lot of action involved, more complex relationships, and a deeper exploration of the friendship between Jonathan and David. “We’ll pick up the story right after the dramatic conclusion of Season 1, which had an intense battle between Israel and the Philistines. It’s going to be epic,” he noted.
In the finale of Season 1, David triumphed over Goliath, marking a significant turning point in the narrative.
Irwin added, “This season sees David evolving into a warrior, and the action-adventure elements are also magnified. He’s destined for something greater, and that’s incredibly exciting.” He also emphasized that David’s story is too expansive for a single feature film, making a television series the ideal medium to unfold it.
“One of the greatest aspects of television is its capacity to tell stories over multiple seasons,” Irwin reflected. “It’s like a dream come to life.”
David’s House was well-received in its initial run, achieving the number one spot on Prime Video.
