On Saturday, Iran’s crown princess-in-exile joined a significant crowd of demonstrators in downtown Los Angeles for a World Day of Action. The event aimed to support the Iranian people as they stand against the harsh Islamic regime in Tehran.
Noor Pahlavi addressed a large rally where many waved flags and displayed massive banners with messages like “Help is on the way.”
Pahlavi, daughter of Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, emphasized that this was more than just a protest. “This is a declaration of a nation taking back itself,” she stated, urging for global rallies to intensify pressure on Iran.
“Fear, the main weapon used by the Islamic Republic, is ineffective against Iran’s lions and lionesses,” Pahlavi expressed. She noted that they stand firm even under immense pressure, fully aware of the costs they could face.
The march kicked off at City Hall, extending for blocks as participants carried both Iran’s former official flag and the U.S. flag. Some held signs pleading for President Trump to take action against Iran’s ongoing repression of dissent.
Ariana Amiri, a 19-year-old resident from Thousand Oaks, attended the rally with her mother and described the experience as “beautiful” and “emotional.”
“It’s an important chance to spread awareness. I really hope President Trump can help us,” said Amiri, who immigrated to the U.S. from Iran at age 9. “They’re killing little children. All it takes is one person, Trump, to stop it.”
Activists report that approximately 7,000 Iranians have been killed since the regime escalated its crackdown on protests in late December.
The Los Angeles rally coincided with an estimated 250,000 people protesting in Munich, marking one of the largest demonstrations in Europe against the Islamic Republic.
Los Angeles, along with Toronto and Munich, has been highlighted as a key location for protests, according to information shared online.
Southern California, especially the greater Los Angeles area, has the largest population of Iranian Americans outside of Iran.
