On Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” on Monday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) discussed how Democrats will promote Vice President Kamala Harris, the leading presidential candidate, throughout the campaign.
The Texas Republican argued that Harris must deliver a “tightly scripted” speech.
“[T]”We need to let the American people know the real story of Kamala Harris. I don’t know how they’re going to tell that story, but that’s their mission and that’s how they’re going to win,” host Sean Hannity said.
“Look, I totally agree,” Cruz responded. “Joe Biden has been a puppet for the last four years. He’s barely aware of what’s going on around him. Other radical left interests are pulling his strings. Kamala is totally different. She’s a true believer. I served in the Senate with Kamala. I know her really well. She believes this completely. You know, she was ranked by a bipartisan tracking service as the most liberal United States senator in the entire Congress. She considers herself an extremist, as you just played out. She believes this and she’s promoting it. But we have to focus on her extreme record. And the media, the corporate media, will spend billions of dollars and do everything they can on this PR campaign to paint her as a mix of Mother Teresa, Oprah and Gandhi. And they’re going to keep her on a very strict script.”
“She’s going to read off a teleprompter, like Joe Biden in his basement,” he continued. “They don’t want her to laugh. They don’t want her to gaffe. That’s dangerous, and as you say, that’s the responsibility of the Trump campaign. It’s incumbent on each of us to look at her record and ask: Will her open borders, as she advocates, make your life safer? Will her out-of-control spending, which is driving inflation and energy wars, make your family better off?”
“And last week when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to a joint session of Congress, Kamala Harris boycotted the entire speech due to its radical anti-Israel extremism, while on air just now, Harris said the issue isn’t America’s enemies that are trying to kill us, but the courage to not utter the words radical Islamic terrorism,” Cruz added. “This is a fight for our nation, and we have to stand up and tell the truth.”
