On Tuesday, Chris Cuomo, the host of News Nation, expressed frustration after Senator John Kennedy (R-La.) canceled his scheduled appearance on the Primetime Show. Cuomo mentioned this in his concluding remarks.
He described Kennedy as a guest he enjoys having on the show, noting that he appreciates the way he presents his arguments.
Cuomo revealed that Kennedy was pulled from the lineup upon learning that Cuomo was discussing Tina Peters. He also pointed out that Kennedy didn’t reach out directly to him, despite having called his support “very bad form” just before their interview was set to begin.
Cuomo, drawing on his extensive experience in the industry, showed disappointment at the last-minute change.
He intended to talk with Kennedy about important issues like election and voter safety, particularly concerning the misinformation spread by President Trump and his supporters following the 2020 election, among other current events.
“I’m not trying to stir the pot unnecessarily,” Cuomo clarified. “But to back out? That feels like a cowardly move. It sends a strong message about the state of our discourse today.”
There was no response from Kennedy’s office despite requests for comment.
In related news, Trump took measures on Monday to hinder Colorado Attorney General Philip Weiser’s efforts to prosecute former election clerk Tina Peters, who was convicted of tampering with a voting machine following Trump’s 2020 defeat to President Biden.
