A star Czech gymnast has died days after falling off a mountain while visiting the German castle that inspired Walt Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty.”
Daily Mail According to reports, 23-year-old Natalie Stikova fell 262 feet off Mount Tegelberg in Bavaria, Germany on August 15 and was confirmed dead six days later.
A friend of Stikova’s told Czech media that she fell while trying to take a selfie. The person, who asked not to be named, said Stikova had been standing near the edge of a mountain as she prepared to take a photo in front of the castle when she slipped.

“We’ll never know if she slipped or if part of the edge of the rock gave way,” a friend told the Daily Mail.

Ms Stikova was reportedly with her boyfriend, David, and two friends at the time of the incident.
Police said it was a “difficult climb” to reach Ms Stikova after her fall, but by the time emergency crews arrived she was alive but seriously injured.

According to the Daily Mail, Stikova’s family took her off life support on August 21 due to irreversible brain damage. She died at 5:30 a.m. that day.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce that our wonderful friend, gymnast, representative and coach Natalie Stikova has left us forever due to a tragic accident,” Stikova’s club, Sokol Pribram Sport Gymnastics, said in an official statement to the Daily Mail. “We offer our deepest condolences to her family and close friends and send them our strength and support.”
