When doctors told Evgeny Anisimov that he had a baby with Down syndrome, his wife wanted to give him up. But instead, this brave father sacrificed everything to raise his beautiful son alone. And he is committed to encouraging others with his words moving story!
When Russian couple Evgeny Anisimov welcomed their first child, they celebrated for just 1 minute and 39 seconds. The doctor's words took things in a completely different direction.
“I'm worried that your baby has Down syndrome.”
The diagnosis shocked Evgeny and even brought him to tears as he realized the obstacles he would have to overcome to raise a baby with Down syndrome. However, this did not change the love and devotion he felt for his child.
“I never thought of leaving my son in an orphanage,” he says. Said. “That would be inhumane.”
Unfortunately, his wife and her family did not feel the same way.
Mother rejects baby with Down syndrome
Mishka's mother stopped wanting her after doctors explained that she had an extra chromosome 21, resulting in Down syndrome. Her parents advised the couple to hand over the boy to an orphanage.
“Let the state take care of him” Evgeny remember His father-in-law's words. “Yet you will give birth to a healthy baby, and your life will be full of joy instead of sadness.”
Thankfully, Evgeny Anisimov found out that his baby had Down syndrome, just as God intended – as a blessing. He refused to let his son go, even if it meant raising him alone.
His wife's reaction was shocking. Until Mishka was born, the two had a successful marriage and generally shared the same values. However, the two disagreed about what to do with Mishka, and ended up going their separate ways.
Still, Evgeny forgave his wife's decision.
“Now I know she was just scared at the time,” he said. To tell. “She started acting on her false scenario.”
carry out God's plan
Evgeny gave up everything he knew in life to be a good father to Mishka.
“I had a good job in Moscow and this was a big turning point in my career, but I couldn't leave my son,” he said. “He needed love and warmth.”
Although it meant sacrificing the life he once cherished, Evgeny was dedicated to giving his baby with Down syndrome all the love he deserved.

“When a child is born, you ask the outside world, ‘Am I needed here or am I not needed here?’ And I answer with conviction: ‘Son, you are needed. ’” explains Evgeny.
Currently, Evgeny Anisimov lives as a single father raising a “cheerful” child. He dedicates his time to helping his son grow physically and mentally. Evgeny is happy with the choice to stand by his son, even if it costs him his wife.
This brave father is sharing his Down syndrome baby's story as a way to inspire and encourage others.
Evgeny Anisimov is passionate about raising awareness about Down syndrome. He aims to inspire acceptance and inclusion of people with special needs. And he hopes his story will encourage others facing similar challenges.
“I also want to support and inspire with my example those who are or will be in the same situation as me,” says the single father To tell. “There's nothing to be afraid of! Everything will be better!”
Following God's plan for us rarely involves sacrifice. But what we give up always pales in comparison to what we gain.
“Do not think that one of these little things is of no value, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always behold the face of their heavenly Father. It’s from.” Matthew 18:10
