Dad of five spends close to $1,400 in a single day at Disney World

A father of five recently took his family to Disney World, spending nearly $1,400 for a day filled with excitement.

The video from this dad has racked up over 7.7 million views on X, highlighting the steep costs associated with a visit to Disney World. After purchasing a ticket that set him back $974, the Florida man also paid $30 for all-day parking. Once inside, he considered getting a Lightning Lane Pass for about $35 per person but decided against it after weighing the pros and cons.

Snacks also made a significant dent in their budget. After their first ride, they picked up two water bottles and three ice creams for a total of $29.50. Pretzels for the kids and a beer for dad added another $19.

Next, a stop at the souvenir shop saw him decline his son’s request for a $44.99 lightsaber.

Initially, they planned to enjoy a sit-down lunch at the Brown Derby, but upon seeing the prices, they opted for a more budget-friendly meal. Instead, they each had personal pizzas, sides, and small soft drinks, costing $44.35 altogether.

At Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Park, Dad spent another $101.29 on Coke, snacks, water, and blue milk.

The day concluded with a full dinner at Frontera Cocina, bringing the total for their outing to $1,391.91.

Earlier this year, reports emerged that Disney executives were privately worried that rising ticket prices might push middle-class families away, which have traditionally formed their core customer base. Concerns were expressed that increasing costs could deter families from visiting Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

A recent survey indicated that, between 2019 and 2024, the typical cost of a four-day stay in the park has increased by about $1,000, with approximately 80% of that hike attributed to new fees for services that were previously free.
